Short story Respone
"The way up to heaven" is in both ways a suspense and mystery. The suspense of it is in the fact that elderly Mr. Foster purposely tormented Mrs. Foster in trying to leave at the farthest possible time to not make her late but so close that she stresses to the point that makes her twitch. The suspense came in again at the point when her flight got cancelled, and the next morning she was on her way back to the airport but had left her husband behind at the last minute after hearing him holler. The mystery in the short story is that the author never specifically told the readers that Mr. Foster was in the elevator, the author explained to us that she heard yelling. The husband had been stuck in the elevator for six weeks and Mrs. Foster knew the whole time. It got resolved by her going to her husbands study office and called the repair man to come fix her elevator. Roald Dahl created a suspenseful and mysterious short story.

Journal - Uneasy Homecoming
In my mind ''Uneasy Homecoming'' is both a mystery and suspense. It's a mystery because the readers are not sure who the burglars are until late in the story. However, it is also a suspense because readers are wondering if Connie would get caught by the thieves. To further the suspense Connie finds a bag with belongings that the burglars have been stashing at her house, and she concluded that they are going to come back shortly and get it, while she is home. Once the bad guy enters the house the suspense grows because he comes within feet of her but does not see her. Connie recognizes the guy and is shocked beyond words. The last bit of suspense is when the burglar goes to retrieve his items and Connie darts outside to the backyard where she sets his motorcylce on fire, causing the sirens to start and she is then relieved in knowing she is safe.
